I am a geochronologist/metamorphic geochemist with research interests that broadly address:
(i) the rates and durations of convergent tectonics,
(ii) the role (and timescales, sources, nature) of fluid-rock interaction in the crust and mantle and
(iii) determining the mechanisms for crustal formation and craton stabilization in the early Earth

I study the rock record and use a variety of geochemical and petrologic techniques to explore these interests. My research has allowed me to study tectonic/metamorphic processes in various locations around the globe, including:

Subduction - Cycladic Islands, Greece and Western Alps, Italy
Mountain building/orogenesis - New England Appalachians
Early Earth tectonics - Eastern Beartooth Mountains, MT, WY and Northwest Superior Province, Manitoba
